Qconferencing was founded in 2001 and grew to become a major solution provider for the corporate market. The video communications company will now become part of Interstellar to enable further growth in the collaboration market. Hogenhouck m&a assisted the shareholders of QConferencing in this transaction.
Strong position in corporate market and healthcare
Qconferencing was founded in 2001 by Eckart Wintzen, an IT entrepreneur who invested his capital in "green" projects. Eckart was ahead of his time and recognized that we also need to reduce our footprint on the earth in business, including by using videoconferencing instead of traveling.
In 2013, under the leadership of a new management team, Qconferencing has been reinvigorated to focus on Cloud video services. Diemen-based Qconferencing primarily provides services to the corporate market, with clients such as Engie, Flowtraders, FD Mediagroep and KLM, and also has a strong position in healthcare (care & cure). The three-member board consisting of Pieter Peletier, Mans Lejeune and Jesse van Straaten will continue to lead Qconferencing after the acquisition.
Additional growth due to corona pandemic
The videoconferencing market has evolved significantly in recent years with the emergence of cloud services and has received an additional boost from mandatory home working during the corona pandemic. The combination of software (Teams, Zoom, Webex, Pexip), conferencing equipment and implementation and support services for complete video conferencing unburdening are of great value to its customers.
Qconferencing managing director Jesse van Straaten: "With the strong growth of hybrid working, our knowledge and expertise built up over 20 years is more relevant than ever. Under the wings of Interstellar, we believe we can further accelerate our growth and offer both staff and customers more opportunities. It's a great beautiful group of companies that strengthen each other in different areas and we look forward to being part of this."
New specialty added to Interstellar collection
Interstellar is a collection of generalist and specialist IT companies. All companies are autonomous enterprises with their own quality, specialization and identity. Together they form a strong collection for the multidisciplinary task that is the digital journey of SME+ companies today. In total, Interstellar represents more than 600 employees and a turnover of 140+ million euros.
In addition to Qconferencing, Microsoft Teams specialist AskRoger! has simultaneously become part of Interstellar. Interstellar CEO Maarten van Montfoort: "With the addition of AskRoger! and Qconferencing, we are able to offer our customers an excellent addition to the collection and in one fell swoop take a leading position in the Dutch market in the digital collaboration domain."
Attractive forward-looking organization
The videoconferencing market is growing exponentially. Qconferencing continues to operate independently within the collective and wants to remain an attractive player for young talent. Qconferencing CEO Van Straaten sees the need as an organization to offer enough variety and perspective to keep high potentials on board. "Skilled personnel is a prerequisite for growth. Within Interstellar there are interesting talent development programs for employees. Moreover, we can continue to challenge employees by allowing them to gain experience at one of the other participations within Interstellar."
