Job Opening: M&A Associate / Manager (Deal Team)

Takes ownership of the execution of transactions

About Hogenhouck m&a

Hogenhouck M&A is a leading boutique M&A firm that assists entrepreneurs in selling their businesses. With over 30 professionals, we are among the most sought-after sell-side advisors for entrepreneurs in the technology and innovation sectors.

Our ambition is clear: by 2030, Hogenhouck M&A will be the top choice for entrepreneurs looking to sell their businesses. We aim to double our revenue—not through volume, but through precision, quality, and genuine commitment to every deal.

Our driving force: for entrepreneurs, by entrepreneurs. We think like entrepreneurs, take ownership of the results, and build an organization that creates sustainable value for clients, colleagues, and shareholders.

Why this role, and why now?

Our growth requires strong professionals who take responsibility for the day-to-day execution of transactions. The Associate/Manager serves as the link between analysis and process management.

You ensure that information, analyses, and transaction documentation are of high quality, monitor the progress of the process, and serve as the primary operational point of contact for the client. At the same time, you manage Analysts and work closely with the team.

This isn't a role where you simply perform individual analyses. You'll take ownership of the entire deal process and ensure that tasks are completed properly, on time, and with care.

The role

You will take ownership of the execution of multiple M&A transactions. You will manage the project, coordinate day-to-day activities, and ensure that all analyses, documents, and information flows are in order.

You are the primary point of contact for the client and ensure structure, clarity, and progress throughout the transaction process.

You focus on:

  • the quality and timeliness of analyses and transaction documentation;
  • progress of the daily transaction process;
  • completeness of information, files, CRM, and data room;
  • clear communication with the client and the deal team;
  • Substantive guidance and development of analysts;
  • Identifying commercial opportunities and relevant market trends.

Where You Make a Difference

  • You take responsibility for the entire case and don't wait for someone to tell you what to do.
  • You combine financial expertise with a structured and practical approach.
  • You bring clarity and structure to complex information flows.
  • You provide documents and analyses that the team can build on immediately.
  • You communicate professionally and approachably with business owners and colleagues.
  • You identify problems and propose a concrete solution.
  • You provide analysts with clear instructions and substantive feedback.
  • You understand that a good transaction isn't just about numbers—it's also about trust and personalized guidance.

Who We're Looking For

Experience and Background

  • A completed university degree, preferably in finance, business economics, econometrics, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of relevant work experience, preferably in M&A or a similar financial setting.
  • Experience with financial analysis, valuations, and financial modeling.
  • Experience in preparing presentations, reports, and transaction documentation.
  • Able to independently coordinate subprocesses and monitor multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in Dutch and English.

Personal Qualities

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Organized and able to oversee multiple tasks at the same time.
  • Independent, proactive, and results-oriented.
  • Strong communication skills and a professional approach to customer interactions.
  • Curious and willing to delve deeply into the subject matter.
  • Comfortable with responsibility and deadlines.
  • Coaching Analysts.
  • A team player who is open to feedback and isn't afraid to give feedback themselves.
  • Energetic, entrepreneurial, and a good fit for our culture.
