For twenty years, Hogenhouck has been advising M&A entrepreneurs in the technology and innovation sector on the sale or purchase of their companies. By 2030, Hogenhouck aims to be the market leader for entrepreneurs selling their companies, and its revenue is expected to double. The Chief Operating Officer is using his commercial acumen to further build the operational foundation that will make this ambition a reality.

About Hogenhouck m&a

Hogenhouck M&A is recognized as the leading specialist for technology-driven entrepreneurs, with a distinctly personal approach. The starting point is not the deal itself, but the entrepreneur behind it. This approach has proven itself over the past twenty years. Today, from its office in The Hague, more than thirty professionals guide M&A transactions ranging from five to two hundred fifty million euros—always with a long-term focus and a genuine commitment to every transaction.

Teams (clusters) collaborate on a sector-by-sector basis to secure and manage deals. The culture is entrepreneurial and the pace is fast. People don’t wait for others to take action; they take the initiative themselves. At the same time, teamwork is highly valued: everyone’s contribution counts and leads to shared success and rewards. Our ambitions for 2030 require a strong operational backbone, led by an experienced Chief Operating Officer.

Job Opening: Director of Operations

The sector teams are running at full capacity, the portfolio is expanding, and the growth strategy is well-defined. The Chief Operating Officer manages the internal organization with the same precision and bears ultimate responsibility for costs, quality, and efficiency. Together with the partners, he or she is building a data-driven and scalable organization.

The role spans various areas, of which marketing is the most visible to the outside world. The Chief Operating Officer is responsible for the lead funnel and the firm’s (online) visibility and oversees a senior in-house marketer and an external agency. Partnerships with related entrepreneurs and companies are leveraged for joint events. The Chief Operating Officer ensures consistent brand positioning that supports the growth strategy.

The second area of focus is HR. The Operations Director sets the strategic direction, with a focus on the job classification system, the performance cycle, and succession planning. Team staffing, recruitment, and employer branding also fall under this purview. Day-to-day HR administration is handled by the Office Manager, who reports directly to this role and supports it in various areas. On the IT front, the Operations Director oversees the managed service provider, manages and optimizes the CRM system (HubSpot), and coordinates the use of AI to increase the teams’ productivity and effectiveness.

In addition, the Chief Operating Officer bears ultimate responsibility for the firm’s financial management. This includes monitoring EBITDA, controlling costs, and helping to prepare the annual budget. Together with the finance partner, he or she monitors margins and reports periodically to the founding partners. Finally, the role also includes office management, and she/he ensures that the team and clients feel welcome at the office.

“The organization must operate with the same precision as we do on the outside. As Chief Operating Officer, you understand the organization from the inside and bring calm and structure. At the same time, you know that things can always be done faster and more efficiently. Finding the right balance—that’s what it’s all about.” – Rik Stikkelbroeck, Founding Partner

Nothing stands in Hogenhouck’s way of realizing its ambitious growth goals. With the arrival of the Chief Operating Officer, the company is set to accelerate its growth. For anyone who wants to play a key role in building a dynamic organization, now is the perfect time to join.
