Structured content authoring software provider Fonto, based in Rijswijk, has been acquired by technology group RWS Group, a world leader in structured and Web content management technology. Hogenhouck m&a advised the owners of Fonto, Jan Benedictus and Taeke Kuyvenhoven, in this transaction.
The future of documents
The precursor to the Fonto platform was developed in 2011. Today, Fonto's easy-to-use, browser-based authoring software enables anyone in an organization to write, edit and review structured - often business-critical - documents. The software is used by thousands of experts from organizations such as Toyota, Starbucks, BBC, the United Nations and Spotify. Fonto supports more than 30 partners and over 100 customers worldwide with a support and development team of over 40 people, based in the Netherlands (The Hague) and Spain (Granada).
Separate business unit within RWS
The acquisition will make Fonto a separate business unit within RWS. Jan Benedictus and Taeke Kuyvenhoven, the founders of Fonto, will continue to lead the company in this exciting new chapter . Fonto and RWS both have a strong focus on the special content management needs of regulated industries, such as Life Sciences, Pharmaceuticals and Finance, where proper content management and compliance is an absolute requirement.
