The legal services provider BSA Group has been sold to SRK Group. BSA handles asbestos claims on behalf of the Institute for Asbestos Victims (IAS) and vehicle damage claims for the government under the State Vehicle Fleet Cost-Sharing System. In addition, BSA handles wage loss claims for employers and personal injury claims for individuals.
BSA was founded in 1956; it began as a government agency and was later privatized. Entrepreneurs Michel Roumen and Eric Joosten purchased BSA’s shares in 2007. Over the course of twelve years, they transformed the company from a former (semi) government agency into a commercial service provider for more than 1,000 employers.
Each year, BSA handles 1,050 personal injury claims from victims and 850 subrogation claims, originating from over a thousand different clients across various industries. Since 2010, BSA has handled approximately 4,000 auto damage claims annually on behalf of the government. BSA will continue to operate as a division from its existing location in Zoetermeer. With the addition of BSA, SRK Group is expanding into a broad range of legal services and now has approximately 120 employees.
Hogenhouck advised BSA’s sole proprietors on the sale to SRK
“What wonderful people at Hogenhouck. Iris, Hein, and Maarten, thank you so much for sharing your talent with us. Talent is great, but teamwork is everything—and that’s exactly what you at Hogenhouck embody. ‘Here’s to a bright future,’ says Iris. Let’s raise a glass to that. Being able to work toward the future with an appreciation for history is a blessing. Sometimes you have to make room for that future by stepping aside for a moment. This M&A firm makes that a reality—with respect for what was, with respect for what is, and therefore with respect for what is to come.”
