Joint venture strengthens position in fish chain
The 50-50 joint venture aspires to strengthen the chain and a joint sales strategy in the field of seafood. With this cooperation, both companies expect to realize their growth ambitions for the coming years. Sustainable and intensive relationships with growers, the continuation of the family business and ensuring food security play a crucial role in this.
The collaboration will create economies of scale and allow the family businesses to further shape their continued growth in the seafood business. Both companies have a rich network in which the demand for sustainable and healthy products is increasing.
Innovations in fishing
Both Cornelis Vrolijk and Krijn Verwijs have the ambition to become the director of the fish shelf. With their decades of experience in the fish sector, they can help fill the fish shelf with healthy products. Innovations, such as ready-to-eat mussels, shrimp peeled by machine in the Netherlands and a rich assortment of fish species, ensures a diverse and innovative portfolio. The products are sustainably fished and farmed, with both companies continuously seeking improvements in CO2 reduction and circularity.
Maintaining identity
"With Cornelis Vrolijk as a complementary partner, we are joining forces and adding value to our business. "We remain Krijn Verwijs, a family business that ensures that our customers around the world can enjoy a full range of seafood and sea vegetables every day.
We also retain our Premier brand and slogan, 'Seafarmers by Nature,' under which we sell our products."
