Altor acquires a majority stake in Infotheek International B.V. (Infotheek), the leading European IT distributor and reseller specializing in end-of-life and refurbished IT products. Infotheek was founded in 1991 and today has locations in eleven countries across Europe. The company has achieved growth of more than 25% per year over the past seven years by expanding its offering to include new categories of products and services, new customer segments, and continuous expansion into new countries. Hogenhouck acted on behalf of the sellers.
A pleasant, no-nonsense attitude
Jordy Kool (Infotheek)
The partnership between Jordy Kool and Hogenhouck has now spanned many years. It began with his management buy-in of the Infotheek Group, where Kool now serves as CEO. Kool has driven part of the growth of his international hardware and software supplier through acquisitions. This led to the acquisition of Condor in 2012, Nimble IT in 2015, followed in 2016 by the acquisitions of 4Launch and Network2Day, and in 2017 by GHS, Added Dimension, and Scholten Awater. “Hogenhouck is constantly exploring the market in search of interesting prospects for us. Once contacts have been established, they continue to assist us in the negotiations until the final acquisition,” says Jordy Kool.
Over the years, our collaboration has become closer. “The lines of communication within Hogenhouck are short, and when we need them, they’re always available,” says Jordy Kool when asked about the benefits of working with Hogenhouck. “Just like us, they have a no-nonsense attitude and a pragmatic approach, which makes it easy to work together.”
This long-standing partnership offers benefits to both parties. Hogenhouck knows the Infotheek Group’s strategy and culture better than anyone else. In turn, the Infotheek Group benefits from Hogenhouck’s growing network: “If we need a lawyer, notary, or another specialist, all it takes is a phone call to Hogenhouck. That’s how both parties strengthen each other.”
