Hogenhouck M&A advised Typ’s shareholders on the sale to BE-YND Group. By joining BE-YND, Typ will be able to further build on its strong position as a cybersecurity specialist and accelerate its growth. With the addition of Typ, BE-YND Group is adding a specialized cybersecurity brand to its platform, thereby strengthening its position in IT staffing.
Specialist in cybersecurity recruitment
Typ is a specialized recruitment and staffing firm for cybersecurity and IT security professionals. Based in Zeist, the company places hard-to-find security specialists in both permanent positions and interim assignments with clients in the cybersecurity, IT, and public sectors, among others.
In recent years, Typ has established a strong position in the Dutch cybersecurity market. Thanks to its in-depth market knowledge, specialized network of professionals, and strong relationships with clients, Typ stands out in a segment where demand for qualified professionals is consistently high.
Increasing digitization, growing cyber threats, and stricter regulations—including NIS2—are making cybersecurity increasingly important for organizations. At the same time, the supply of experienced security professionals remains scarce.
Accelerating from a position of strength
In BE-YND Group, Typ has found a strategic partner that aligns with the organization’s entrepreneurial culture and specialized identity, while also providing the resources needed for further growth and professionalization.
By joining forces, Typ gains access to a broader network of clients and professionals. At the same time, Typ can offer its existing clients a wider range of staffing solutions through the other businesses within the BE-YND Group.
BE-YND Group operates in the fields of IT staffing and IT services. The group includes, among others, the IT staffing firm Linden-IT and the technical staffing firm Linden-TE. There is a consistent demand for cybersecurity professionals within the group’s client base. Typ’s specialized knowledge and network are a direct fit for this need.
Following the transaction, Typ will continue to operate under its own name and with its current team. Founder Fred Smulders and co-shareholder Wouter Bongers will remain involved with the company and will hold stakes in the new structure.
Role of Hogenhouck M&A
Hogenhouck M&A advised Typ’s shareholders throughout the entire M&A process. As part of this, the firm first worked with the shareholders to further refine Typ’s strategic positioning and its strong position within cybersecurity.
Hogenhouck then established and oversaw a competitive process aimed at finding a strategic partner that would not only align with Typ’s culture and entrepreneurial identity but also offer opportunities for the company to grow further.
This process led to the selection of BE-YND Group. Hogenhouck then advised Typ on the negotiations and structuring of the transaction through to its successful completion. The deal team at Hogenhouck M&A consisted of Mark van Beusekom, Daan Zonneveld, Bas Schellekens, and Emma Verrijp.
Fred Smulders on the collaboration with Hogenhouck M&A: “The Hogenhouck team provided me with excellent support at crucial moments. This was my first time going through a process like this, and you quickly realize that there are a lot of details to take into account.”
Daan Zonneveld, deal captain at Hogenhouck: “Typ has built a strong position in a highly specialized market. In BE-YND, Fred and Wouter have found a partner that not only brings significant strategic value but also aligns well with Typ’s entrepreneurial culture. We wish Fred and Wouter the best of luck with this next step.”
